Safeguarding of Children and Adults

At Carlow Presbyterian Church we believe that God expects us to protect those who attend our services and other activities - especially the children & young people, and any adults who may be vulnerable for any reason. We want our church environment to be a safe one for everybody who experiences it.

The website of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) has developed a wide range of helpful resources, including information about legal requirements, practical advice, relevant documents, and access to specialized training to enable local congregations to keep everyone as safe as possible. Further information about these can be found by Clicking Here.

Carlow Presbyterian Church has adopted the following documents

• Child Safeguarding Statement of Carlow Presbyterian Church
• Safeguarding Policy for Children & Adults
• Code of Conduct for Adults working with Children
• Code of Behaviour for Children and Young people
• Online Safety Policy
• Anti-Bullying Policy
Current legislation, requires each congregation to appoint people to certain safeguarding roles, and the PCI documents will often mention these. In Carlow Presbyerian congregation the following people fulfil these roles, and their contacts details are displayed on the church noticeboard, or available on request.
If you would like to find out a little more about what these different positions involve, then please click on the title of that role e.g. Mandated Person in the table below.
